 Job Summary
The Senior Programmer/Analyst is responsible for identifying and documenting requirements, analyzing them from a business/functional perspective and developing solutions to meet the identified need. The Senior Programmer/Analyst is responsible for understanding the requirement and/or issue to be addressed, proposing, modeling, and designing a potential solution, reviewing this solution with his or her peers and developing appropriate programming code, scripts or data objects.   The senior programmer/analyst will complete programming tasks as required within a team environment that integrates technical and functional expertise to deliver production support, enhancements, and system corrections.

  • Two years buying experience and previous AS400
Essential duties and responbilities include the following
* Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain an excelled working relationship with vendors and brokers assigned to them by the Director of Purchasing.
  • Fully responsible for inventory levels, in-stock ratio of 97%, and inventory turns as set by the Director of Purchasing
  • Takes responsibility for obtaining all information required to set-up items in system (such as pallet configuration, shelf life, pack size, UPC, cost, etc.)
  • Participates in appointments with assigned vendors and is responsible for obtaining all promotional activity.
  • Prices items for resale and gives this information to Pricing Coordinator to pass on to sales department and customers.
  • Attends sales meetings to become familiar with customer’s attitudes, preferences, and purchasing problems, as well as introduce new items.
  • Create/review purchase orders taking into account sales figures, seasonal trends, promotions, new authorizations, minimum shipments, code life, and inventory turns.
  • Contacts carriers to arrange transportation of purchases and regarding late shipments.
  • Authorizes return of merchandise.
  • Gives item information such as mark-ups or markdowns, manufacturer numbers, season code and style number to sales department.
  • Is instrumental in inventory process and verification of results
  • Creates income through forward buys
